Around the Grounds, Sunday 20th December

A weekly review from around the grounds

Its been a busy week for some of our clubs, here’s an overview for you to enjoy:

Rockingham City have been busy with the news of 2 new signings. Argentine forward Ramiro Vilar and USA import Noah Cavanaugh joined the club this week. Noah also has a you tube channel, showing his progress through his playing career so far which you can see here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn4wKqq-9Aud4yPvm1lrasw As well as the player signing’s, Rockingham have announced the launch of two new girls teams, at under 12 and under 14 levels. For more information regarding these teams, email the club jnrcoord@rcfc.net.au

Mandurah City have also been busy signing new players for the 2021 season. James Paylor has signed having previously been playing in the USA. Joining James is former Kwinana player Neal Beveridge and Mitch Gruin, who signs from local rivals Rockingham City.

Peel United are on the look out for players to join their very successful amateur squad for 2021. Peel’s amateurs won the division 1 title last year, but unfortunately, no promotion was awarded to any team. A meet and greet session will be held at Bortolo Park on Saturday 16th January from 10am and all interested players are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact 1st team coach Clint Brown on 0400 207 743

Port Kennedy have also been busy this week. A new head coach has been appointed for their state league women’s team and expressions of interests are invited for any players who would like to attend the trials, starting on Tuesday 12th January. For more information, head over to their Facebook page (link can be found on our Links Menu). Port Kennedy are also holding their first ever in house R U OK day with a tournament on the 7th March. PK recognise the fact that a lot of people have been affected in some way with their mental health and it hoped that this tournament will be there to have fun but also to offer support to those who have been feeling troubled over the last year. All proceeds from this tournament will be donated to the R U OK Organisation. Again, head over to their Facebook page for more information.
