Despite many clubs not in league action for another week or so, there was plenty of football to talk about from the weekend.

Plenty of coverage was made over Mandurah City’s 1-0 win against Olympic Kingsway in the Football West Night Series final as well as Rockingham City’s 1-0 win against Cockburn City in the WANPL but there were some other teams who played on Sunday in various cup competitions.

In the Metropolitan cup last week, there was mixed fortunes for our clubs.

Baldivis (South Div 3) lost to South Perth United (South Div 1) 2-4

Mandurah City (South Div 2) beat Warnbro Strikers (South Div 3) 4-2

Rockingham United (South Div 1) beat Kalamunda United (South Div 4) 2-1

Murray District Rangers (South Div 2) lost to Hammersley Rovers (North Div 2) 2-8
