Around The Grounds, Friday 30th April

Despite there hasn’t been much football being played this week, it was good to see clubs being allowed to return to training, getting ready for this weekends fixtures. Despite this, some clubs have been busy with behind the scenes stuff, so here is a snap shot of what’s been going on.

The Peel Junior Soccer Association have announced they will delay the start of their competition until the 7th and 8th May. This still allows time for every round to be played as well as the end of season carnivals.

Warnbro Strikers are looking for a couple of extra players for their Under 10’s team. Training is on Friday nights between 4.45 to 6.00pm. Any players interested should just pop down to the club during these times of training or contact the club directly.

Work has started at Koorana Reserve which will give Port Kennedy a well needed upgrade to to the playing fields and clubrooms. The upgrade should be completed in time for the start of the 2022 season.

Rockingham United are looking for girls who would like to play in the under 12’s team. Additionally, they would like a couple of senior ladies to play for their south Metro teams as well. Just pop down to the club on a Tuesday or Thursday at Paul Garnett Reserve in Cooloongup

Rockingham City are looking for an assistant coach for their amateur division 4 side. If you would like to be involved, please email the club media@rcfc.net.au

The club have also announced a partnership with Worthy Australia. They are a not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting women and children who have faced homelessness due to domestic violence. Over the next few months, there will be joint programmes which of course, we will happily share.
