The Weekend Preview

Our weekend preview doesn’t start with the usual clubs, as before anyone else kicks off this Saturday, the Peel Ramblers walking football team take part in the ANZAC Festival Competition in Floreat. The Ramblers have three group games against Fox 5’s, The Mystery 5’s and Wanneroo. After the group stages there is one more game to determine the final positions of all the teams. In the NPL competition, Rockingham City are involved in an early season 6 pointer as they travel to Inglewood United. Rockingham will be hoping for the 3 points to put some daylight between them and their host and climb back up the ladder. Kick off for the first team game is 3pm

In the state league, Mandurah City are looking for their first win of the season when they host Western Knights. The Knights are currently top of the state league ladder with 3 wins from 3 games so it will be a tough ask for The dolphins, however they are boosted by the signing of Robbie Galvin, who has recently returned from a spell playing in the UK. Kick off for the first team game is 3pm.

Sunday morning has a great start to the day with the local derby in the Women’s State League between Port Kennedy and Mandurah City. Both team will be looking for their first win of the season and this game kicks off at 11am at the Lark Hill Hockey complex.

In the Men’s Amateur competition, there is another local derby in division 1 when Port Kennedy host Peel United. Peel currently sit top of the ladder while Port Kennedy are 2nd. Kick off at 3pm at the Lark Hill Hockey Complex.

In division 2 of the amateurs, Mandurah City travel to Olympic Kingsway. Division 3 sees Baldivis travel to Ballajura while in division 4, top of the ladder Yanchep make the long journey south to Rockingham City.

Rockingham City’s junior NPL teams are at home against Balcatta this Sunday, while Mandurah City NPL teams travel to Stirling Lions.

In other games that involve our sides playing each other, the under 15’s south division1/2 sees Mandurah City host Rockingham City (Yellow) on Sunday morning.

Remember, there are plenty of other games this Sunday and as the season gets going more, we will look into those teams who are doing well.
