Another weekend gone and its was a mixed bag of results for our sides.
We start the review with the walking football team, Peel Ramblers. Playing in their third tournament and with a couple of new players, they came 7th overall. This really wasn’t a true reflection on how the team performed as they were unlucky with some dubious decisions from the referees which cost them a couple of goals.
In Saturday’s NPL game, Rockingham City travelled to Inglewood and lost 4-1. Mandurah City in the state league also looked like losing after being 3-0 at home to Western Knights, but a spirited comeback from the Dolphins resulted in the game finishing 3-3.
Sunday’s women’s state league game between both our sides ended up with Mandurah City beating Port Kennedy 5-0.
In the amateur leagues, Peel United won the division 1 local derby against Port Kennedy 2-0. Mandurah City shared 9 goals in their division 2 game, losing 6-3 to Olympic Kingsway. Baldivis travelled to Ballajura in division 3 and lost 3-1 and in division 4, Yanchep made the long trip to Rockingham City and left with all 3 points, winning 2-0.
