City Win The Rocky Derby

Game of the day in the ladies competition was at Paul Garnet Reserve for a hotly contested south division 2 derby between Rockingham United and Rockingham City.

It was the visitors who came out on top, with Barker scoring twice in a comfortable 4-1 victory. The win means that City still have an outside chance of finishing runners up to Curtin University, however, Baldivis will have a say in that as they remain in 2nd spot with a good 4-2 win away at Canning City with Gamble scoring twice for them.

In the state league, Mandurah City were so close to getting a point on Sunday, only for a Lyons goal in the 89th minute getting the winner for UWA Nedlands.

Baldivis Districts from south division 1 warmed up for Tuesday night’s cup semi final with a 1-1 at home to Perth Saints. Baldivis thought they had all 3 points but a penalty from Dummett 10 minutes from times gave the Saints a point. In the other game in south division 1, a Thompson hat trick helped Victoria Park to a comprehensive 6-3 win over Port Kennedy. With only a few games to go, its all to play for, with Baldivis Districts leading the way.

Lastly, in south division 3, Rockingham United were no match for Sutherlands Park as they went down 7-0.
