So with a couple of games left, we can take time now to see who are the champions, who are promoted, who have been relegated and who still in with a chance of glory/misery.
I will now use the disclaimer that I hope the results and table from Football West are correct and my maths is as well 🙂
Peel United’s amateur team can win the division 1 championship if they beat Stirling Panthers at home on Sunday while Port Kennedy need to beat Belmont Villa to guarantee division 1 football next season. In division 3, Baldivis need a win at home to Perth AFC to guarantee division 3 football next season while Rockingham City in division 4 need a point to not win the wooden spoon.
In metro south division 1, Baldivis are guaranteed to be runners up to Victoria Park while Mandurah City in South division 2 just need a point away at Queens Park to claim the league championship while Murray District Rangers will need a win and then hope for other results to go their way, otherwise the wooden spoon and relegation to south division 3 is certain.
In south division 3, both Peel United, Baldivis and Warner Strikers have a chance to claim the runners up spot but they both need Sporting Warriors to lose their remaining games.
In south division 4, Baldivis have claimed runners up spot, 17 points behind winners Spearwood but 7 points ahead of 3rd place Perth Royals.
In the Masters Over 45’s South A, Port Kennedy are currently 2nd, 2 points behind leaders Forrestfield United but have played a game more and in the B group, Baldivis have an outside chance of runners up, they they will need to win and hope Sporting warriors and UWA Redlands lose their remaining games.
In the Women’s section, Baldivis Districts won the south division 1 title last week and now hope for a league and cup double when the face Fremantle City in the cup final on the 3rd October. In south division 2, Rockingham City, Baldivis and Mandurah City are all fighting for the runners up spot while in the south division 3, Rockingham United will unfortunately finish bottom of the league.
