There can only be one true valentine this week……FOOTBALL!!!
Here is a round up of what is happening around the grounds for this week.
We start at Port Kennedy Soccer Club, where their under 8 teams are just about to start training. The sessions start at 4.45pm at the Warner Oval, on Swallowtail Parade. Its also not long until the senior squad play their first competitive game of the season. Friday 25th February, they are away to Ballajura in the FFA Cup. Kick off is at 7pm at Kingfisher Reserve.
Baldivis Soccer Club are holding a Soccer Quiz Night on Saturday 12th March from 7pm. It costs just $10 person with a maximum of 6 in a team. Meanwhile, after the success of the 5 a side tournament, AFC Rockingham are going to start pre season training tonight (17th February) from 6.45pm. Training is at the home ground of Laurie Sanford Reserve in Singleton and anyone interested in playing socials, masters or over 45’s are invited to come along.
Mandurah City are on the look out for some coaches for junior teams. The divisional under 13’s, 14’s and 15’s require a coach as well as mini roos under 11’s. For more information, email Euan juniors@mandurahcityfc.com.au
Former Mandurah City first team coach, Kris Donnell has landed himself a new role at Rockingham City. Kris has now become the Technical Director for the club and we wish him all the best in his new role. Off the pitch, and the club would love to hear from you if you could volunteer to become a game and coordinator facilitator to ensure the clubs clusters kids have a great time in 2022. Warner Strikers under 12’s girls team have started training on Wednesday nights from 4pm and would love a couple of extra players for the team. Another team on the look out for girls and ladies are Murray District Rangers. They are looking for players 15 and over to play for the ladies metro team. The home ground is in South Yonderup which will soon boast some wonderful new facilities. Games are on a Sunday. The Peel Regional Walking Footballers are ever expanding but there is still room for more! Players in the 40+ Women or 50+ Men age groups who enjoy each others company and the sport of walking football are invited to contact the club and join in. Finally, Football West have announced details of upcoming referee courses including a FREE female-only course as part of the 2022 Female Football Week.
The dates are:
Tuesday February 22 and Thursday February 24, 6-9pm, at Gibbney Reserve, Maylands
Saturday February 26, 9am-4.30pm, at North Beach Soccer Club
Saturday March 12, 8.45am-4.30pm, at the Football West Office, 1 Prospect Place, West Perth
Saturday March 19, 8.45am-4.30pm, at the Football West Office, 1 Prospect Place, West Perth
Sunday March 27, 8.45am-4.30pm, at Splendid Park, Yanchep
Free female-only course: Saturday March 5, 8.45am- 4:30pm, at the Football West Office, 1 Prospect Place, West Perth
All of the other courses cost just $150 and include course fee, registration, uniform and equipment.
