Both Mandurah City and Rockingham City lost their opening games of the 2022 State League division 1 on Saturday, with both teams losing by just the odd goal.
The highlight of the day, regardless of who you support, was at Olympic Kingsway, where Danny Hodgson made a very welcome appearance to cheer on the home side. Danny was given a wonderful ovation from everyone in the crowd as he watched on to see his Kingsway team win 1-0.

Tommy Amphlett scored the winner with just minutes to play, creating wild scenes of celebration amounts the home crowd.
Meanwhile, Rockingham City shared 5 goals with MUM FC, losing 3-2. Former Rockingham City player Zaw opened the scoring before Mucwevho equalised 10 minutes later. Jones made it 2-1 to the home team on the half hour mark before MUM FC made it 3-1 with a goal from Bingwa. Almost immediately, Rockingham hit back with Mucwevho’s second of the game but unfortunately for the visitors, the equalising goal could not be found.
