Early days in the Men’s Amateur divisions, with only 2 league rounds and a cup round played. Making their debut in the Premier Division, Peel United have made a steady start with 2 draws from 2 games. This puts them in 6th place in the table. This weekend, they face Maddington White City, who have only played once this year and currently sit bottom of the table.
Port Kennedy in division 1 have made an OK start to the season. Currently sitting in 4th place with 3 points from 2 games, they have found scoring to be no problem, with 7 goals scored from the 2 games so far. This weekend, they travel to Maccabi who currently sit in 3rd place.
In division 2, Mandurah City have only played the one game so far, a 2-1 defeat away at Perth Hills. They hopefully will back playing on Sunday as they travel to Fremantle City, who have played twice, winning 1 and losing the other game played.
Baldivis in division 3 have made an excellent start to the season, winning both their games so far. Round 1 saw them win 3-1 at home to Woodvale and they followed this up with a good 4-2 away win at Yanchep United. They will certainly hope to keep this early season form going as they play host to Noranda City on Sunday, who are also unbeaten so far but only played the one game.
Finally in the league scene, Warnbro Strikers will be hoping for a change of fortune this weekend. Having started the season losing 5-1 at home to Alkimos Quinns, they then lost 6-1 away at UWA Nedlands. This weekend, they travel to Perth Royals, who are also winless this season, having lost their only game so far 4-0.
The Prelim round of the cup was also played in April. Mandurah City progressed to the next round due to their opponents, Swan Valley forfeiting the game, while Peel United lost 3-1 away at Westnam United. Baldivis red hot form transferred to the cup, winning 5-2 away at Spearwood Dalmatinac, while Port Kennedy lost 5-3 away at Ellenbrook. Warnbro Strikers are still to play their game, which is scheduled to be played on the 25th May, away at MUM FC.
