Four weeks into the Men’s State League Season and I think it would be fair to say that both Mandurah City and Rockingham City would have liked better starts to their seasons.
With both teams having played 4 games, Mandurah City find themselves in 7th place in the table, while Rockingham City are 11th. Mandurah City have just started to find some form however, having beaten UWA Nedlands in the last league game, they are undefeated since the first game of the season. Rockingham City are still looking for the first win, with their only point of the season coming in the very entertaining 2-2 draw with Mandurah City.
Only Mandurah City remain in the Australia Cup, having beaten UWA Nedlands 4-0 in the previous round, while Rockingham City had a very tough match away to one of the strongest teams around in Perth Soccer Club going down 7-0.
This weekend, both teams return to league action. Rockingham City will be hoping home advantage helps as they host Quinns FC at Lark Hill at 3pm, while Mandurah City are away to MUM FC with a 6pm kick off, a rare opportunity to see both teams in action on the same day.
The reserves division shows a complete change of fortune for Rockingham City. Four wins from fours games sees them at the top of the table while Mandurah City sit 10th with only one win to their name so far.
In the under 18’s, both teams are currently placed in mid table. Mandurah sit 5th with 7 points, while Rockingham are 8th with 5 points
