Normal(ish) Service Resumes

Apologies to everyone for not providing our regular updates to the local football news recently, I succumbed to the dreaded Covid 19 virus, which laid me low for some time. I’d also like to thank those who took time to message me to see how I was and the offers to get any shopping while in my period of isolation. Fortunately I am much better now and for those of you that currently have the symptoms, I wish you all a speedy recovery.

Now back to more important things, and this post is dedicated to Saturday’s State League action. Once again, Mandurah City are involved in 5he match of the day as they host league leaders Olympic Kingsway. After last Saturday’s shock defeat to Dianella, The Dolphins have to get back to winning ways if they want to challenge for the title. The visitors are currently 10 points ahead of Mandurah and anything but a win for the home side is vital to keep up the promotion bid.

At the other end of the table, Rockingham City are on a poor run of form which has seen them slip into the relegation zone and on Saturday, host MUM FC who are currently mid way in the table. A win for the visitors would mean Rockingham could drop to the bottom of the table, depending on the UWA Nedlands result and be one of the favourites to drop into Division 2. Rockingham will also be without captain Ryan Kennedy for this game, after his sending off last weekend.

Both games kick off at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
