Saturday Is Derby Day

This Saturday sees the 2nd leg of the Liam Dixon Cup as Mandurah City host Rockingham City at the Genesis Care Stadium.

In reverse fixture at the start of the season, the game finished 2-2 and there will be as much passion and excitement in the game.

Mandurah are hoping for their biggest crowd of the season and head coach John Baird said “Really looking forward to Saturdays match, all the teams are especially after a 9 point Saturday which was really pleasing for the full club. Our boys are focused and know what we need to do, boys deserve all the credit for how they have progressed this season but they’re is much more to come and that’s what is exciting for all us at the club.”

Rockingham coach and former Mandurah City coach, Kris Donnell added “We’ve had a couple of really good weeks getting six points on the table, the boys are doing everything we’ve asked and the response has been great since coming in. Saturday is going to be a very tough game for us, Mandurah can hurt you all over the park and for me they have the best squad in the league but it’s a derby and we’ve came into good form, myself and Darren will back the team against anyone in the league if we’re firing all cylinders. I’m looking forward to the game I think it brings the best atmosphere at this standard so it’s great to be involved again.”

Kick off is at 3pm on Saturday with free entry for all.

The under 18’s kick off at 11am and the reserat 1pm
