The Saturday Preview

After what seems like weeks and weeks, it is finally a weekend where supporters of football can watch two games in one day.

At 3pm, there will be no doubt that many eyes and ears will be at the GenesisCare Stadium as Mandurah City host Joondalup United. In the game between 4th v 8th, many people will be looking to see if new signing Leigh Griffiths starts or plays any part of the action. Griffiths signing made headlines both here and in the UK with the joining of the Dolphin’s on a short term deal and it will be interesting to see how he and his team mates perform on Saturday.

Once that game has finished, supporters can then make their way up to Lark Hill as 6th placed Rockingham City take on 2nd placed Western Knights with a 7pm kick off. Rockingham have also made a couple of signings this week as interim coach Kris Donnell and assistant Darren Donnachie accepted the permanent positions at the club. In a club announcement they said ‘This agreement is a well deserved recognition of the work done by Kris and Darren to affect a full turn around since coming in to the roles this season. We have been blown away by the positive focus both guys bring and are encouraged by the creation of opportunities for player progression into the senior squad and a commitment to youth focus. We know this will be a cornerstone of how we aim to approach the future of the club.’
