Peel United’s 2-2 draw with Wembley Downs in Sunday’s Amateur Division meant they were mathematically safe from relegation and will spend another season in the top Division. Port Kennedy of Division 1 are also safe from relegation, despite going down 4-2 at Hamersley Rovers. Mandurah City’s result from Division 2 is still unknown, while in Division 3, Baldivis beat Forrestfield United 1-0 to keep their faint hopes of promotion alive but Warnbro Strikers in Division 4 had a bad day at the office, losing 9-2 at home to Perth Royals and slip to the bottom of the table.
In the women’s leagues, Baldivis Districts lost 7-1 at home to Fremantle City in the Amateur Division, while in the Metro leagues, south Division 1 champions Port Kennedy drew 2-2 with Gosnells City. In south division 2, Port Kennedy, who are also the league champions, beat Warnbro Strikers 3-0. Rockingham United beat Fremantle City 6-2 but Mandurah City lost 6-0 to Kalamunda United. In south division 3, ten goals were shared as Rockingham United beat Aubin Grove United 6-4.
In the men’s Metro, Baldivis drew 1-1 with Carramar Shamrock Rovers in the premier division. South Division 1 saw AFC Rockingham draw 1-1 with Curtin University, Mandurah beating Queens Park 1-0 and Port Kennedy winning 6-3 at home to Victoria Park. It’s all to play for in south Division 2 as Peel United beat Curtin University 8-1 to remain 1 point behind leaders Sporting Warriors with 1 game to go. Sporting Warriors beat Port Kennedy 5-0 on Sunday while Baldivis lost 4-2 at home to Spearwood Dalmatinac. In south Division 3, Peel United lost 6-1 to MUM FC and there was a 2-2 draw in south Division 4 between Queens Park and AFC Rockingham.
Finally, in the masters leagues, Port Kennedy of the south premier drew 2-2 with MUM FC in midweek. Baldivis lost 4-1 to Forrestfield United in south Division 2. AFC Rockingham beat Fremantle City 2-1 in the over 45’s and Baldivis beat Spearwood Dalmatinac 5-0.
