Well the season, playing wise is over, but there are still things going on and around our clubs and teams, so here is a quick look at what’s been happening and what is planned at the various clubs in the region.
The Peel Junior Soccer Association recently sent three teams to take part in the annual country week festival in Perth. It was another successful week where the Under 11’s won their league, while both the under 13’s and under 15’s finished third in their competitions. Also, congratulations to Tristan Subke and Ellie Lovell for being Runners Up in the Fairest and Best competition for their Divisions
Poor Kennedy’s Walking Football will be moving to Warnbro Oval (Use Aqua Jetty Car Park please) as at Wednesday 5th October, 2023 through til March 2023. The cost still remains at $5 per person. All abilities and ages are welcome and if you haven’t played before, your first session is free! Pop down to Warnbro Oval this Wednesday for some great fun and socialising with some great people!
We would like to congratulate Peel United’s Cameron Crowley who was awarded the Belt Up Metro South Division 2 golden boot award. Cameron finished the season with 22 goals in the league, as well as 6 in the cup competition.
Also winning a golden boot award for his division is Nigel Burke from Baldivis Soccer Club. Nigel scored 19 goals in his teams Amateur Division 3 league this season.
Warnbro Strikers have a spots left for their Friday night 5 a side competition. Mixed teams consisting of 5 outfield Players and a maximum of 4 substitutes, a total maximum team of 9 players. Players must be 16 years and above for player safety. Every team must have a minimum of 1 female players with 1 being on the field at all times. Competition Duration = 28th October 2022 – 16th of December 2022, continuing on the 13th of January 2023 – 24th of February 2023. Cost of Competition = $150 per player = ($10 per game to be paid upfront.) Team Entries with player names entered by 21st of October, with all players paid. Team Names & Playing colors to be entered on submission of team entries & payment.
This competition will be a non competitive environment and is provided for a social, off season event where everyone is welcome, antisocial behaviour, negativity towards staff, players or officials will not be tolerated & will result in instant dismissal from the competition. Rockingham City are pleased to confirm registrations to attend trials for our 2023 NPL Academy are now open for all age groups. Registrations to attend are compulsory at Rockingham City Trials. The dates of these trails are Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th October.
On Sunday the 9th October, the Peel Regional Walking Footballers in partnership with Healthway, will be holding a tournament, which involves teams from all over Perth. The competition starts at 9am at the Mandurah Aquatic And Recreation Centre. If anyone would like to go along and see what walking football is all about, they will happily welcome you along and answer any questions you have or where your nearest venue is.
