Rocky Roll On, Mandurah March On

The final round of the group stages of the night series concluded this weekend, with wins for both of our sides.

Already qualified Mandurah City made several changes on Friday night for their game against Canning City and still came away with a 2-1 win with goals from Aaron McCready and Joe O’Brien, which maintained their 100% record in the group stage.

Sunday night saw Rockingham take on Subiaco in a game they had to win to qualify for the knockout stages. Rockingham didn’t really have much to worry about as they ran out 2-0 winners with Jayden Leader scoring from the penalty spot in the first half and Will Hayes making sure of the victory on the hour mark and guaranteeing top spot in the group.

Saturday night sees the first phase of the knockout rounds and the draw has got Mandurah City playing Rockingham City in a not so local derby. The game is scheduled to be played at 6pm at the home of Wanneroo City. Let’s hope that there is some fixture rearrangement for this game, so it can be played a lot closer to the region and would allow even more supporters to go and watch the game.
