There are 2 highlights of the weekend ahead. On Saturday, it’s the “non” local derby game between Mandurah City and Rockingham City, being played at Wanneroo City ‘s ground at 6pm in the Football West Night series game. Then, on Sunday, Port Kennedy play Nothern City in the second round of the Australia Cup. This game is being played at Shoalwater Oval with a 2.30pm kick off. We hope to be at both games and provide up to date match highlights on our Facebook page.
Away from these games, here is a look at what has been happening around grounds.
The Peel Junior Soccer Association have their second registration day on Saturday 26th February between 2 and 5pm at the Singleton Community Centre. For more information, please visit their website http://www.peelsoccer.com.au
Also on Saturday, there are a couple of pre-season games happening. At 11.30am, Peel United’s reserve team play Mandurah City’s under 18’s team and then at 1.30pm, Peel’s first team play Mandurah City’s reserve team. These games are being played at Coote Reserve in Madora Bay.
On Sunday 12th March, Rockingham United will be holding a sausage sizzle at the Bunnings warehouse in Rockingham. Please feel free to grab some food and drink from them, while shopping for your DIY projects.
Port Kennedy is in a position to have three women’s teams this year. This is a magnificent effort from the club, however, their second team is looking for a coach. With full support from the club and the coaching coordinator, this role will be exciting and rewarding. For more information, please email them at info@pksc.org.au
Rockingham City are currently advertising for a Canteen Coordinator. This is a paid position and applications close on the 12th March. Please check out their Facebook page for details on how to apply. The club are also looking for coaches to coach there Under 8’s, 12’s and 14’s. The city of Rockingham is now taking expressions of interest from local sporting clubs for their exciting Rockingham Youth Sport Leadership program for 12–15-year-olds. This grassroots program is the first of its kind in WA and a great way for you to develop your club’s future leaders.
