In the latest round of the State League Reserves cup, Rockingham City provided a cup upset as they defeated NPL side Perth RedStar 3-1. Rockingham had an excellent first half, storming into a 3-0 lead with goals from Mbedzi, Marr and Hancock. Rockingham then made a series of changes at half time and the misery continued for the visitors as O’Conner was sent off on the hour mark along with Mbedzi. Despite this, RedStar did pull a goal back on 64 minutes through Saungweme but the home side held out to go into the draw for the next round.
The under 18’s didn’t fair as well, as they went down 4-0. Two goals in each half was enough for RedStar to progress into the next round.
