Another week and another round of Football fun both on and off the field. Here, we look at what’s been happening around our grounds.
We start with news from the Peel Regional Walking Football Club, who are putting on extra events for the next few weeks. With demand getting higher, the club have decided to put these extra sessions on for those who live north of the region. Last week’s game between Rockingham City and Joondalup United was a charity fundraising day for Worthy WA. The result on the day didn’t go to plan for the home side, but off the pitch, a total of $5,300 was raised, which was an excellent result all round. Well done to all those who helped raise this amount of money.
On the subject of fundraising, Baldivis Districts had a recent Pizza evening, where money was donated for every pizza sold and the club were very happy to announce that $2000 was raised to help out the Mulcahy family in these sad times for them. Once again, great work everyone, hope the pizzas were nice!
Rockingham United would love a few more ladies to play football with them this season. The club prides itself in making sure everyone has a fun time and even if you have never played before, they will welcome you with open arms. They meet up on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.15pm at Paul Garnett Reserve in Cooloongup (Near Rockingham hospital) and a warm welcome is guaranteed! The club is all inclusive, no trials and LGBTIA+ friendly.
Baldivis Soccer Club under9’s are on the lookout for a goalkeeper and one more outfield player. Ideally, some experience is required, and training happens on a Wednesday evening from 5pm at Peckham Reserve. For more information, please contact the club directly.
